CLASS - UPPER SECONDARY: 15 TO 17 YEAR OLDS: Year 16 Term 4
GENERAL AIMS
This term is set aside to explore questions raised by class members and things they want to look at.
LESSONS
To help answer questions that these young men and women have in regards to the Bible. Being open and able to respond to their questions regarding the scriptures and what they teach, should help the learners not only gain faith in what the scriptures teach, but also an eagerness to look at these questions for themselves.
Questions to be taken from the term or topics the class members want to look at, within reason. Questions to be decided during the first four weeks of term 3.
The nature of this term means that it is not possible to lay out a sequence of lessons in advance. Nevertheless the following are presented as some possibilities for the teacher to prepare beforehand as questions that are frequently asked, and to have in reserve if the class is reticent to come forward with questions. Each lesson is independent and they could be done in any order. Some lessons might run over more than a single week.
What's the Bible's position on homosexuality, and how can that be reconciled with the idea of a loving and compassionate God? Does God really hate gays?
